Established in 1945, and renamed in 2021,  Cerulean is one of the longest-running businesses in the tobacco testing sector. In 2020 we were proud to celebrate our 75th year of trading. Now in our 77th year, we are proud to still offer excellent customer service alongside modern and reliable products.

Since 1945, Cerulean and been synonymous with the supply of precision test and measurement equipment for the tobacco industry. With the continued releases of new devices, we are committed to delivering the solutions that our customers require. Our roots are made in the UK and our experience is part of our DNA.

Our company philosophy is grounded in innovation, customer service and continuous improvement.

We have diversified and have a range of equipment for outside the tobacco industry including the CelsiusChecker, air samplers and tube packing machines. With major advancements in new and exciting areas, the last decade has been formative and the future looks exciting.

2022 - World's first oral pouch test station, ORION is launched.
2021 - Quantum Neo with x-ray is launched.
2020 - Exclusive distribution partnership with Sirius Automation.
2019 - Automated End-of-line solutions partnership with PCE Group Ltd.
2019 - Cerulean begin exclusively marketing Tews microwave laboratory devices for the tobacco industry.
2017 - G.D acquires Cerulean.
2015 - 'Celsius Instruments' is acquired by Cerulean: a non-invasive temperature measurement device.
2013 - The first dedicated e-cigarette testing device, the CETI8 is launched.
2012 - Cerulean buy ‘Newton Instruments’ which included carton testing devices and air sampling units.
2007 - Cerulean's first rotary smoking machine, CR20 launched.
2001 - Company is renamed as Cerulean and new brand identity launched.
2000 - Molins PLC acquire Filtrona Instruments and Automation.
1993 - Company moves to its current location in Milton Keynes.
1992 - First QTM stacks sold to BAT Southampton.
1982 - First tube packing machines supplied to Betts of Colchester.
1961 - Cigarette Components Ltd. form Filtrona Development Ltd.  based in Bletchley UK.
1945 - Cigarette Components Limited becomes incorporated as part of the Bunzl group.
